Echoes of the Past: A 1940s Tableau

A room in the style of the 40s. An atmosphere of poverty and despair. A woman at work, sewing on an old Singer sewing machine, her hands deftly guiding the fabric under the needle. In the corner of the room a child is playing with toy trains, and in the doorway appears his father, a tall man in a hat and a long coat. He lights a cigarette, looks at his son and leaves.
